What do you see as your role on the Board?
As President, I am responsible for driving the mission, vision, goals and strategy of the Loudoun First Responders Foundation. I champion the organization and advocate for our mission to internal and external stakeholders and maintain beneficial relationships with donors and supporters. I work with the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and Committees to cultivate and solicit major foundation grants, donations and individual gifts to advance the causes of LFRF.
How has the Foundation, in your opinion, most impacted the Loudoun Community?
Between 2016 and 2021 we have provided over $250,000.00 in direct financial support of first responders, not only in their time of need due to crisis, but also by providing scholarships to their children based on their accomplishments. We have grown significantly in the last five years which has allowed us to extend our support to the members of all public safety agencies in Loudoun County. LFRF now provides financial assistance to members of the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Loudoun County Animal Services, and each of the Town Police Departments.

What do you see as your role on the Board?
To help increase awareness of LFRF’s overall mission to the business community. To provide support by sharing my 26 years’ experience in fundraising and special events to increase the funding sources.
How has the Foundation, in your opinion, most impacted the Loudoun Community?
The LFRF has worked to build strategic partnerships with Loudoun businesses and first responder organizations; through those partnerships, LFRF is able to provide financial aid to our first responders in their time of need.

What do you see as your role on the Board?
My role as a board member is to help carry out the mission of the board. By using every opportunity to increase awareness, not only for our community, but for our first responders as well. Being an ambassador for our first responders and reminding all of the important role they play in our lives everyday, regardless of when we personally need them.
How has the Foundation, in your opinion, most impacted the Loudoun Community?
Showing the support our volunteer board offers to these brave men and women by raising awareness is one way we have impacted the community. When people recognize the work of this board and give financial support, attend events or send an email, that shows the impact that continues to be made.

What do you see as your role on the Board?
It is a privilege to be on the Loudoun First Responders Foundation board. This Foundation has a special place in my heart due in large part to my late husband, Stu Plitman, Founder. He was passionate in supporting local First Responders and their families. I too share that passion and will continue to expand awareness of the Foundation and assist in any way to support our mission.
How has the Foundation, in your opinion, most impacted the Loudoun Community?
The Foundation provides financial aid to the First Responders families in their time of need through partnerships with local businesses and organizations. In addition, the Foundation offers annual events/fundraisers in the community which also helps First Responders families in their time of need. The Foundation also offers merit-based scholarships to the children of the First Responders families.
The Board is made up of a group of wonderful, competent individuals who will always do what it takes to put our First Responders needs first.

What do you see as your role on the Board?
I see my role as a fundraiser and connector, but mostly just to help out wherever I can.
How has the Foundation, in your opinion, most impacted the Loudoun Community?
The impact on the community is that first responders know they have the support of the community in a real, tangible way when they have a need.

What do you see as your role on the Board?
I see my role as connecting the Loudoun business community to the work of the Loudoun First Responders Foundation, to provide local businesses the opportunity to demonstrate their appreciate for our emergency first responders by supporting the Foundation’s mission.
How has the Foundation, in your opinion, most impacted the Loudoun Community?
Too often, our emergency first responders are taken for granted or we fail to appreciate the tremendous stress and danger these public servants face every time they put on a uniform. The Loudoun First Responders Foundation addresses these failures, by clearly demonstrating to our first responders that this Loudoun Community greatly appreciates their hard work and sacrifices, and we prove that being there to support them and their families when they need it most, just as they are there, 24/7, for us.

What do you see as your role on the Board?
Our first responders don’t hesitate to step up and help when the need arises. We need to step up and raise funds to financially support our first responders facing needs arising from injury, illness or conditions in the line of duty.
How has the Foundation, in your opinion, most impacted the Loudoun Community?
Showing appreciation towards our first responders to help them during their time of need. It’s good practice to help those who run towards danger when everyone else is running away.

What do you see as your role on the Board?
My role as a board member is to not only be an ambassador for our organization (which means being an active participant at events, meetings, etc,), but also raise funds for our foundation through asking for donations, seeking out sponsors, bringing awareness to our cause (and social media efforts), and offering up new ideas to complete all of the above.
How has the Foundation, in your opinion, most impacted the Loudoun Community?
Our Foundation has been able to support Loudoun County by giving financial assistance directly to those who need it. We are unique in that we partner with the community to raise funds to give them right back to the community and in the hands of those who immediately need and deserve it, our local First Responders.

What do you see as your role on the Board?
I am beyond honored and humbled to serve on the Loudoun First Responders Board of Directors. It is an absolute privilege to be able to support First Responders when they simply need us most. It is a huge opportunity to be able to help those who sacrifice for us every day. I am so proud to be on this board. My role as a board member is to manage social media by creating fun, engaging, impactful graphics and messaging that speaks to the mission of the Foundation while also assisting in fundraising and community relationships.
How has the Foundation, in your opinion, most impacted the Loudoun Community?
The Foundation has impacted the community by supporting First Responders and their amazing families in THEIR time of need. To be able to assist in taking away some of the financial burden so that they are able to focus on their recovery and their families without additional hardship is the best way to say THANK YOU for all of the hard work and sacrifice they make for us. I love that the board also supports the children of First Responders through our scholarship programs, this is so meaningful. First Responders are here to protect us, to keep us safe. They run straight toward the danger when instincts tell you to run as quickly as you can the other way. To be able to support those who unconditionally sacrifice for this community truly has immeasurable impact on our First Responders and their families in our community.
